SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

No landlocked country thrives in isolation. African landlocked countries rely heavily on cooperation with neighbouring coastal states to access ports, streamline trade corridors, and implement regional development projects.

The Importance of Partnerships

African landlocked countries face development challenges that no single nation can resolve alone. Geographic constraints, limited market access, and structural disadvantages require collaborative solutions that span borders, sectors, and disciplines.

Our Partnership Approach

A key example is ALCRC's plan to facilitate the participation of African landlocked countries in the signing of the Negotiable Cargo Document under UNCITRAL, scheduled for February 2026 in Accra. This reflects our commitment to ensuring landlocked countries are not excluded from emerging global trade frameworks.
